Autumn Fashion Showcase 2013

A spectacular community event for Dundonald Primary and Nursery School

Dundonald Primary and Nursery School PTA excelled in presenting their recent Spectacular Autumn Fashion Showcase- highlighting the exceptional profile Dundonald Primary School has established not only as the core of the local community but also globally.

Undoubtedly a highlight of the evening was our compère, Mr Frank Mitchell, UTV. We were grateful to Frank for taking time out of his busy schedule to spend it with his 'Dundonald' fans!

The evening began with Naomi Nelson from Naomi Nelson HAir and Beauty introducing our Dundonald Dress SOS-Makeover volunteers Mrs Andrea Preston (parent), Miss Jayne Irwin (P4 Teacher) and Mrs Carol Boyce (Building Supervisor) before their transformation. They arrived back on stage looking fabulous! Well done Naomi!

Following this 150 pupils, staff, governors, parents, grandparents, friends and local business representatives came together on the catwalk to present to a full house an amazing showcase of autumn fashion from a variety of local names in the Northern Ireland fashion scene and lots more...

The pupils set the scene with a wide range of styles from Dunnes Stores (Forestside) and Next (Boucher Raod and Lisburn Square). This was followed by our glamorous staff, parents, grandparents, Chair of Governors, past pupils and friends showcasing a range of styles from Koko, Moda, Dietrich, Phase Eight, Ludlow's Menswear, Butterfly Bridal, Rich Rags, Blue Inc, Top Hat and Miglio Jewellery. The models had been transformed behind the stage by our Hairdessing and Makeup teams from Lisa Woods, D and G Hairdressing and Colin Ellison. A Vintage range reprenting 'The Belfast Fashion Souk', regularly held in The Spires proved nostalgic for many!

An event at DPNS would not be complete without a celebration of the Cultural Diversity we are so proud of. Our Filipino and Indian families excelled in bringing their amazing culture to our catwalk which included a special dance performance from our Dundonald's Got Talent winners from 2013.

We would like to give a special thanks to ASDA, MEDICARE, MCDONALDS, CLEAR DAY NURSERIES, LOCKTON INSURANCE, CHARLES HURST RENAULT, MINPRINT, PENELOPE FLOWERS, CAFE NOSH, GAIL HUNTER EVENT MANAGEMENT and THE MOAT BUSINESS CENTRE who were our main sponsors and contributors for the evening. In addition to this we appreciate those who donated via advertisements and by providing raffle prizes.
