The Dundonald Primary School BuildingDundonald Primary School
On Wednesday 9 February our staffroom and Assembly Hall were transformed into studios by the BBC. Oneof our P7 pupils from last year arrived back in school for a very exciting reason. Angelica now a Year 8 pupil at St.Josephs’ College, is one of the presenters in a new series of the BBC programme “The Culture Club”. The focus of the programme is looking at various cultural celebrations held around the world and Angelica who was born in the Philippines was back in Dundonald Primary to celebrate the Barrio Fiesta. Parents and pupils had been busy setting the scene in the school assembly hall which looked fabulous with flags, fruit, vegetables and  the centre piece was the traditional Filipino hut created by Ricky one of our Filipino parents. Jameeh, Nikkie, Klarisse and Chantalle who are also from the Philippines and pupils in our school performed their lines brilliantly and looked wonderful in their traditional costumes. Prior to the filming in the hall the day had started with Alberto the chef cooking some traditional Filipino food for Angelica and the day concluded with one of our P5 classes singing The Vegetable Song – in Filipino of course- well done P5. Everyone was really excited at the thought of being on Television but they will have to be patient as the programme is not due to be broadcast until September.
