Children in Need 2013/ The Philippines Typhoon Haiyan Appeal

It was that time of the year again, when Dundonald Primary School transforms into a Pudsey wonderland, all in aid of Children in Need! This year, our money raising efforts will also aid those affected by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. The Philippines Typhoon Haiyan Appeal is something which is extremely close to the heart of our school community as lots of our families come from the Philippines.
All children from across the school took part in raising funds, from the Nursery to P7. Some of the highlights of the day included the ‘Teddy Bears Picnic’ in P1, the ‘Mad Hair Day’ in P2, ‘Sponge the Teacher’ (not forgetting the Principal!) for P5 and P6, and of course all our staff wearing their onesies to school!
Children In Need is such a worthwhile event. Thank you for all your generous donations. This year we have raised a record-breaking total of over £1400! Half of this amount will be sent directly to our friends in the Philippines.
In addition to this monetary help, we collected blankets and clothing for those affected by Typhoon Haiyan. The response was phenomenal, and the goods have been delivered directly to those affected in the Philippines!

Thank you once again for generous support!
